Dr Janine Lamb

Dr Janine Lamb

Janine moved to Manchester from the University of Oxford Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics in 2006, from where she gained her DPhil in molecular genetics.

Dr Lamb works in the Centre for Integrated Genomic Medical Research (CIGMR), where autism researchers are interested in increasing understanding of genetic factors that influence susceptibility to the autism spectrum.

Recent research has focused on genomewide association and copy number variant studies using high density single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping, and subsequent pathway and protein-protein interaction analyses, as part of the International Molecular Genetic Study of Autism Consortium and the Autism Genome Project (AGP) Consortium.

Current research in Manchester (funded by Autistica) is investigating the role of small non-coding microRNAs in susceptibility to autism, using RNA sequencing approaches.
